Dear Alabama Horse Council members and friends,
 
After much consideration given to the plight of our friends and neighbors in the coastal area hit so devastatingly by both hurricanes's Katrina and Rita, we have determined it to be in the best interest of our  community as a whole, to cancel our Annual Fair event in Jan 2006.
 
This is a time of rebuilding mentally and physically for so many affected by this disaster.  The cost is enormous.  Fuel prices are high.  It is our request that all monies and efforts normally expended for the Fair,  be directed for use to the victims, both human and equine.
 
Many thanks for your contributions already made to our neighbors.  Sincere apologies to those making plans to attend our Fair. 
 
We look forward to seeing you at the Fair which will be held in Jan. 2007.
