The duties of a county representative include:

To saturate their respective county with materials from AHC
Utilize local papers, television and radio to encourage and enhance membership
Visit all trail rides, saddle clubs, horse organizations, tack shops, feed stores; attend their meetings and stress the importance of becoming a member of the AHC
Listen to their wants, needs and desires, and when we become one collective voice, the council will be heard at the state legislative level.
Provide a forum to develop programs and strategies to advance Alabama's horse industry
Develop educational programs, data resources, promotions and networking opportunities for the Alabama horse owners, users and service providers
Unite the Alabama horse industry with the American Horse Council in national efforts to protect and promote the horse industry.The Alabama Horse Council is a non-profit organization representing all horse-related interests. It is a proactive group that is as strong as the collective individuals it represents. Protect and promote your interest in horses! 

One of our goals is to promote the horse industry in Alabama and possibly get a first-class equine show facility for horses in Alabama. With you help we can play a role in assuring that state officials are put on notice that the Alabama Horse Industry is big business. Our state government has to be made aware and realize horse shows and trail rides are an important source of revenue for their state government, as well as cities and counties.

The AHC is a collective voice for all breeds to have strength in number and to deliver a strong message to our city, county and state legislative branches to understand the potential Alabama has to entice visitors and exhibitors throughout the country to bring their horses and their tax dollars to Alabama. We must be active participants in influencing Alabama policy makers on legislation that concerns and crucially affects the Alabama Horse Industry.

The Alabama Horse Council is always serving the common interest of the Alabama horse industry by promoting open communication with outside interests and each other
